Looking After Terracotta Pots

How To Protect Your Pots

The majority of the pots we sell  are glazed in one form or another and are therefore 100% frost proof and you have complete peace of mind throughout the hard winter months.

Terracotta Pots / our ‘Tuscan’ range are not Frost Proof but we call them ”Frost Resistant’. With a few precautions they will see you through the winter frosts and you should have no problems at all.

  • Add some crock to the bottom of your pot. The bigger the pot, the more crock you should add.
  • Line the inside of the pot (not the bottom) with some bubble wrap or a split plastic bin bag. You want to create  a simple barrier between the soil and the clay.
Our video explains this for you.
